PRP Hair Restoration Now Available!

By admin,

Hair loss is often very distressing for men and women and there is a general belief that there is little that can be done to help. Developments in the treatment of hair loss have provided hope by treatment with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for age-related hair loss known as Androgenic Alopecia, commonly seen as male-pattern balding and female pattern thinning. It is also useful for some medical conditions, know has alopecia areata.

PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood, thus this is considered a safe, autologous therapy. We draw the patient’s blood in our medical office room, spin it in a centrifuge to separate the components of the blood and obtain the golden plasma that contains the concentrated PRP. The patient’s scalp is anesthetized with topical cream, then cleansed and then Dr. Karen injects the patient’s scalp into the areas of hair loss and thinning. This PRP releases numerous growth factors that stimulate hair follicles to grow (a cycle of hair growth known as the anagen cycle) and regenerate. As a result, there is an increase in density, improved vascular flow to the scalp hair region, and visible results of hair regeneration.

The protocol is a series of four treatments, scheduled initially 1 month apart. There is no downtime and the patient may still be advised to continue or start oral and topical care as well. Maintenance treatments are subsequently set every 3 or 6 months. It is recommended that patients have been assessed by their primary care provider to ensure their loss is not secondary to a medical condition or medications.

Offering PRP Microneedling

By admin,

PRP MICRONEEDLING, also know as: EPIDERMAL COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (ECIT), or PERCUTANEOUS COLLAGEN INDUCTION TREATMENT (PCIT), or the celebrity name “VAMPIRE FACIAL”

This non-surgical type of facial rejuvenation improves the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, skin texture, and tone. Micro-channels are made into the skin’s surface that allows more effective absorption of topicals, like the PRP, or hyaluronic acid into the deeper layers of skin. This produces new collagen and elastin and aids in a process called angiogenesis, that improves blood flow to the face. The microinjures from the microneedling repair very quickly. The PRP can also be injected by Dr. Karen into areas mentioned above to improved and diminish the appearance of tired tear troughs, nasolabial folds, and more.

We look forward to helping you regrow and restore your hair and rejuvenate and revive that glow to your skin. Schedule your consult with Dr. Karen.
