Rosacea is a common skin disease that causes redness, pustules, papules and swelling on the face.  It frequently begins as a tendency to flush or blush but can progress to persistent redness in the center of the face.  A patient may experience a burning or itching sensation to their skin.  With time, small blood vessels may appear.  There are many triggers that can be avoided to control  the symptoms, especially practing good sun protection.  Dermatologists often recommend a combination of treatments tailored to the individual patient that can stop the progress of rosacea.
